I wonder if I was too hasty and confused the system by pressing buttons before it was ready and fully active ?

Probably. The RNS510 is a computer running Windows Mobile. Together the RNS, mobridge and DIS are a little network - and you know what they're like . Chuck some software by Apple into the mix and I'm surprised it works at all...

Here's some feedback on the VW kit today.

Was driving around as usual and the kit was working fine.  Then parked up to pick up the missus from hospital (she's fine by the way), but she wasn't ready yet so I went off again to get some dinner.  Noticed that the connecting message was on for longer than normal, then the MFD blanked out.  Other menus were fine, just the phone was blank.  Pressing a button noticed that it was still connecting... very weird.   Anyway, got to Burger King, had a burger whilst watching the Manchester derby, got back into the car and after a break I thought the kit might be ok.  Still no joy as it was "connecting".  Getting worried now since was expecting call from the wife.

Pulled over and realised that the phone was off.  I had turned it off in the hospital!

Kit was fine.... my brain clearly wasn't!!   :embarassed:

Right, connected the media-in and no issues. I got in, started the car and waited a minute or so before connecting to the M-in.

How do you mean "before connecting"? Does it not connect automatically when you get in the car without any intervention from yourself?
