Best place for new tyres
« on: 08 January 2010, 09:02 »
As per my previous post I need 2 x new front tyres asap. Want to stick with the Michelin PS2's and I need 225/40 18's to fit my Monza II's.

Best price I can find is Camskill @ £131.74 but I will need to get them fitted which I guess will be £10 a tyre.

Alternatively etyres.co.yk are quoting £140.13 including fitting which seems good. Has anyone used them?

My main concern is to get someone who can fit them without scratching my alloys which are mint. Does anyone have a recommendation? I'm based near Banbury.

this might sound obvious, but just phone your local tyre place.  the one near me quoted £220 for PS2s fitted and balanced, but 17".

If you're lucky enough to know someone who is a costco member then their prices are around the £135 (can't remember it was last year that I got one) for the PS2's fitted and balanced. They only do Michelin brand.

Michelin Pilot Sport 3 have been released this week, it's a different tread pattern to the PS2, price wise they are the same as PS2.
Event tyres (mobile fitting) have them in stock and quoted £148 each inc fitting.
Alternatively is their a Pro-tyre place near you, they guarantee not to mark your rims. I always use them here in Bristol.

Yeah there is a Pro-tyre about 20 miles from me, I used to work right next door to it. I'll give them a call and see if they will price-match.

My main concern is avoiding damage to the rims. I know you can technically make them pay for any damage, but it's easier just to go somewhere careful!

Decided to call Protyre Heyford.

They've done me a price of £142.00 each for the new 18" Michelin PS3's (the extra load ones). Price includes valve and balance. Bargain!

Getting them fitted tomorrow.

I've just had the new PS3's fitted in the last 2 weeks - ProTyre in Gloucester did them at £145 all in (each!)

LOL, my free michelin fleece just turned up as I was typing this!
