Air intake loose GTI MKV
«

I opened my bonnet today to find my air intake had came loose from where it goes into the engine, i reattached it went for a drive and it has blown loose again exactly as it did before.
Has anybody else had this problem? How should it fix onto the engine? I cant see any kind of clip or anything? Should i be worried about this?

Engine movement maybe. It's just a spring clamp. You need to pinch it together with pliers/grips so you can open it up enough to sleeve the intake pipe back onto the engine cover, then secure the clamp where the two overlap.

The air mass meter is behind that so you dont have to worry about unmetered air in the system.. i guess the only real issue is it might be sucking in slightly warmer air from around the engine bay - but the ecu monitors intake temperatures and makes adjustments to suit. It might be a tad noisier but there will be no harm done.

It shouldn't be coming off if the spring clamp is fitted, those things are as tight as a nuns....
As above, watch your fingers when fitting/removing it as it f*cking hurts when it snaps on your finger. I know this.
