Cheers JV!

Well, started off with a 4 door '97 CL, but unfortunately a deer ran out in front of me and well.. that car is gone.
So went out looking for a new golf, but nothing was coming up untill i came across this little beaut lol
Paid $1500CAD = £880

1995 VW Golf CL
178,000 KMS
Orlando Alloys
New Front panels replaced = No Rust
Floors been patched as canadian weather is brutal with all the salt
New Brakes
All New Belts
New Front Struts and Springs

Although there was a few little things that need work:
Front panels were painted the wrong VW RED
Interior in pretty bad shape, well drivers seat is anyway
License plate bulb is out (get a hefty ticket for that here in canada)
Hatch is Rusty Needs Either work or replaced And painted
Rear Bumper Faded and Rust marks from hatch.

Here is as she sits when i got her home:

After a few days of getting used to the car,i took it to Atlantic Car Stereo to get my CD player fitted and then as soon as that was fitted the car started acting up and wouldnt start first time, and sometimes would even have to bounce the car to get it to work, i was worried it was the starter that had went, but was informed by a mate of mine the starter was new and it was the ignition switch.
Then the next day the car just wouldnt start so headed over to Steele VW and picked up a new switch for $50 and got workin on it.
After 2 hours work the car is up and running again. Just need to get the steering wheel adjusted again as i forgot to mark it when taking it off and its not on where it was before.

After all the ignition problems were sorted i picked up a set of Xenon Headlight bulbs which were supposed to be brighter than standard ones, so spent $40 on a new pair popped them in the same day, theyre not quite what i expected, im slightly dissapointed to be honest as they dont really put out a wide enough spread of light compared to the old ones i had in. but heres how they look

Not really as bright as id hoped, but arent the worst.

Well as the salt build up on the car was getting kinda bad i took my car to Avis Car rental/cleaning company
my mates dad works there so got a bay to ourselves and got to work, hes got his 1987 Nissan 300zx Sitting in there
so gave that a clean too and i did some work on it for him since he has no clue what to do
Anyways here a picture after a good clean: (and my black badge and fog blacks  )

The golf and the 300zx

Well last night we got a fair bit of snow, so i decided to take the once clean golf out for a bit of fun, went to the mall parking lot and got her side ways, i got a few parked shots of the car, and just waiting on my mate to send me pictures of when i actually had the car sliding around, but once i get them ill post them up, Headlights looking a bit brighter here,

Little update again just to keep all you guys informed.
Been offered a set of front and rear euro bumpers with a VR lip for FREE so ill be picking them up sometime this week
And I've had my four aftermarket speakers from my other golf sitting here but havent gotten round to putting them in so might do that sometime soon. And really hoping for a new set of front seats as the drivers one is killer on the back
Also got a few little plans involving painting a few pieces so ill get pictures up once ive done that too !
