Dark wheels are 'in' at the moment but they do need to be a big contrast to the body colour (silver, white, red) IMO. 3 or 4 years down the line they might be against you come sale/part ex as i doubt black wheels will be sought after. To respray the faces and the insides you'd be looking at £300 a set.

A month or so back one of the new GTi / GTD guys posted a pic of his [I think] red car with a kind of 'grey' shade wheels; they did look rather grand. Not black and not silver, rather smart ... and expensive looking!

Black wheels are cool. End of. And screw resale. I'm buying to enjoy it for myself, not for some scrote to enjoy it 3 years down the line.

Who cares about the resale value of your wheels!?!?  You buy a car to drive and have fun with - not to worry about selling years down the line.  If you worried about resale, then you wouldn't buy a new car in the first place!

I'm a big fan of black wheels... but I agree with Mac7 that they have to be on a contrasting colour like white / silver / red.  I've said it before, but I'm not convinced about black wheels with rising blue.  Its just too dark a colour to have the contrast.
Golf R... 3 door, DSG, Leather, Reflex Silver, Black 19" Talladega Wheels, ACC, Parking Sensors, RNS510 with Dynaudio, Reverse Camera, Luxury Pack, Cruise Control & Fiscon Bluetooth.

^^^^Agreed

I think it works. Usually I think dark colours don't work, but I love the look of the black 19" on RB. ETTO. :afro:
MKV GTI | Reflex Silver | 5-dr | Anthracite 17" | Manual | Highline MFD | Cruise | Revision 'D' DV | Dirty Pipes |

The GTD is like a blow up doll. The GTI is like a proper woman. Sure the doll might last longer, and the woman might have higher running costs, but which would you rather have?
