Who to call?
« on: 30 December 2009, 11:23 »
Right, renewal mid January and starting the hunting now.
19 yrs old.
2 years NCB.
2l 8v gti.
Car parked on street in a low crime area.
No offenses or convictions or any medical problems.

Cheapest quote so far is £1152 from ecar, which is the one I used for the past year. Go compare and compare the market says the cheapest found is around £1200-£1300.

Who can I call that will be under £1000 (hopefully). Waiting for a call back from Brentacre and Adrian flux, gonna give HIC a try.

Footman James won't insure me cos I'm under 21.

Zurich operator "We've got an EXCELLENT deal showing up on our system, third party fire & theft only £2500" and something...
I didn't catch the full price cos as soon as she said TWO thousand I wowed myself.

Adrian flux couldn't quote me, so they quoted me via a company called sabre I think. £2400 and something...again I am amazed. Some companies are SO uncompetitive. I said woah! cheapest one I've got so far is £1152 with ecar and he gave me nothing but sarcasm when he said "wow.....that's cheap....ok then, bye"

Impolite bastard!

you can give me a buzz mate @ HIC

don't want to promise anything coz we don't have a lot of schemes for under 21 year olds on the type of vehicle your looking to insure but we do have some, could be cheap or could be ridiculous like the £2000+ like your getting coz we are a part of Adrian Flux.

If you want to give us a try call us on 08448 884 888 and ask for Danny O

I think I've found my insurers.

Brentacre. Quoted me £1183, only £21 more than ecar, but I am looking to pay monthly. The deposit is £297 then £99 for 10 months, totalling 1297 which works out cheaper than ecar's monthly payments. The bonus is that I can modify my car cosmetically however I want at no extra cost, with a BHP limit of 120, and I am allowed exhaust and air filter (which I already have  :lipsrsealed:). He then said that if I wanted to modify my engine for power, or do an engine conversion, then they will simply raise that BHP limit at a cost. Sounds like a cracking deal to me tbh! Think it'll be the one I go for unless I can find something for under £1000.

Bet you cant wait till your 21. I saved LOADS when I turned 21 (I got my MK5 insured with just 1NCB for less than that).
