hi have vagcom and mk5 and need to know where the port is so i can check for faults thanks...
If you cant find it......Grind it

Under the dash on the right hand side, roughly in line with the headlight switch. There's no cover over it like the mk4's so should be in plain sight but you'll need to get on your knees to see it.

It's easier to have the driver's door open and crouch down to have a look in the footwell area. Once you see it, you can find it by feel the next time.

thank you found it! :) but also found out vagcom I have only does mk4!!! argh

The lead or the software? I dont have VAGCOM so am far from an expert but I know at a meet once I wanted Tim to clear some codes I had and his lead (he owns a MK4) wouldn't fit into my MK5 . . .

We came up with a reason but I cant remember, someone want to clear it up please :)

there's no can bus support with the ebay cables, simples.
