This looks more like it...

They look nice on the R.

Wonder how they would look on the gti but obviously in 18s.

What widths and offsets are you gents running with,

Will I get away with an 8.5J, ET45 (i.e 6mm less inner clearance, 19mm less outer) ??

Thanks in advance.

Can anyone answer the above ?

I'm looking to replace the stock 18" monzas but keep the tyres if possible, what width are the monzas ?

Stock Monzas are 7.5" wide and have an offset of 51mm

You'll get away with 8" width up to around ET45 running the standard 225/40/18 tyres.
I did run ET41 on mine for a while though which didn't catch but that was on standard suspension, if lowered it might be a bit too close to the arch.

Great thanks for the info.

So 8.5" width would stretch the tyres, a good idea or not ?

8.5 would be a VERY tight fit and it depends on if you like the stretch look.
I'm not a fan but then again I'm old and untrendy

When you say tight fit are you talking about the tyre fitting on the rim or wheel arch ?

Some wheels I'm looking at are 9.5inch rears which I'm guessing will need wider tyres.

Thanks

A bit of both really!

9.5 will need camber and possible arch rolling I'd think, never mind the tyre stretch.
