Stuff these Goodyear F1's. Rubbish when it gets cold.

I beg to differ though, I only got about a months use out my Assys in August so wont comment on them but my GSD3s where brilliant in anything other than ice and snow. I agree in what your saying that THEY say below 6 they dont work well, but I can only go on what I experienced and I never had any problems.

To be fair most summer tyres are crap in this weather,just adjust you'r driving to the conditions.Besty thing to do if you have the spare cash & room to store them would be to get 4 vw steel wheels & some snow tyres.

Ok now im confused. I was gonna get some F'1s but as they are only classed as a summer tyre then they are out of the question as I live in England and we don’t really have a summer. So all season it is, as people have been mentioning the Vredestein Quatrac I thought I would look them up and look what I found:

So ok people same old lame question that always gets asked, what tyres should I go for? I have a Mrk 5 GTI DSG with the regular 17's on there.

Id suggest the F1s.

Had GSD3s (older F1s) on the 17s and now have Assyms (newer F1s) on the 18s and both are fine, only problems I have had are when its snowy / icey but ALL normal tyres are like that. I personally wouldnt pay too much attention to this summer tyres stuff. I've never had problems with them.

Do a search as there have a been a million and one threads on this. Its between the F1s or the Michelin PS2s.

Vredesteins do an asymetric style awell and not the ones you posted.

I love mine tbh, and for 90% of the time they are fine, but as said snow weather is freak especially for me down the deep saaarrrfff

The F1s are still the best money can buy imo they are unbeatable in the dry and great in the wet, very predictable, they are not the best on snow ice ect, but i certainly wouldnt leave them on the shelf for this reason. Ive had them on every car ive owned with no problems, Those and the continentals are my tyres of choice.
