I would imagine you could change it within a week or 2 of the car being built?
Especially as your build week is unconfirmed - I'd have thought 8 weeks+ would have been more than enough time to change an option.

What are you adding / removing anyway!?

You should get on the phone to VW customer services and ask them about changing your options then if the dealer won't do it.  At least they'll give you a definitive yes or no answer.

You CAN pick it on the vw.co.uk website - I tried this morning!  Normally if you pick something thats not available it gives you a pop-up.  If you try DAB AND Reverse Cam with an RNS510 you get an error... but you seem to be able to have one or the other.

I am in doubt should I go for the Dynaudio...I have ordered the standard 8 speakers with the RNS510/camera....
Anyone outthere who compared it to the 8 speakers on the MKV (I have the MK V at present...sound not too bad)..

Why I doubt is that my money runs out on those wretched extra's.....

I demo'd a MK6 GTI back to back with an MK6 GTD to compare Manual v DSG - and one had Dynaudio and one didn't.  I had my iPod with me as I was borrowing each one for a couple of hours.  I listen to a wide range of music, from rock, to dance, to hip hop, to pop etc... and I can say that there was certainly a difference.  Especially with heavy rock tracks like ACDC and Iron Maiden etc!  The difference between an RNS510 and an RNS510 with Dynaudio is £340 I think - and when you're looking at £25k+ on the car, another £300 seems fairly minimal.
Alternatively you could use the £340 on aftermarket speaker upgrades... but it sounds like too much hassle to me!

I did that.
I was told the following.
You can change your spec within around 5 weeks before the build week. You can change it at any time before the build week is confirmed. But if the changed order has not made it too the factory in time before they lock it for production we cannot change it unless you cancel the order and place a new one. I was also told that changing the order may make VW withdraw there 2.5% VAT covering offer as any change you make may delay your order further so VW will then see the delay as not there fault.

Thanks but I meant is there a difference with the standard 8 speakers in the Golf MK V and MK VI
I certainly agree that the amount is minimal...with that excuse I got nearly all the possible extra's in a discussion with my wife... :smug:
