Gap Under Front Struts
« on: 19 December 2009, 13:35 »
Mk4 1.8T GTi 5dr - 99 S Reg [totally standard]

Hi, noticed the other day my car felt like it was crabbing down the motorway. Jacked the car up today to check for the usual loose / worn bushes etc, but all is good. However I noticed a large gap under the top of my front struts under my bonnet.

Not sure how to add piccies [help], but i'll describe the size of the gaps I have.

Passenger Size, approx height of 3 -4 2p pieces stacked up

Driver Size, approx height 0f 3 2p pieces stacked up

If thay look like Neil thays ok but if that are very diffarant it might be that you sping has brocken and you have lost a coil. Thast what happend to my front drivers side. The gap was like what Neil shoes was on the pasanger side and  on the drivers the cap was siting on the chassi turrot  :undecided:
