Leather for me is a total waste of money - but I'm speccing it because the R seats look like they'll get in a total state with their white bits. I really grudge £1700 for it - but its better than the seats being ruined after a few months.
I had half and half on my ED30 and that was perfect. The heat comes through the cloth instantly and wams you up a treat. The leather bolsters keep their shape better than cloth ones. Winner all round. Plus you still got leather door cards / armrest etc.
Its just a shame VW are too tight to put leather in the R as standard and make the Recarro's a £1700 option like the S3.
On the original topic though...
In a GTI I would take ACC and heated seats over leather. I wouldn't live without heated seats anymore!!
