Windows Washer Fluid ?
« on: 15 December 2009, 23:21 »
Love the xmas smilies.  anyway....

Got my washer fluid light on today, so I gotta top up. I'm reading through the manual and it says I've to use VW approved wash, but doesnt tell me which one to buy. Surely wash fluid is not that strict ?

Any idea's on which is a decent wash to buy ?

Does that come as standard or does it come with one of the packs?

Yeah make sure you don't use the stuff from Halfrauds etc as it can block up the windscreen washer jets.

The VW stuff is specially formulated for the 'fan' type washer jets to prevent them getting blocked up.

Just go to your local dealer and they will give you the right stuff, it's only £3 a litre and you can dilute it. It smells nice too.

They will tell you how strong to mix it, might want to have it quite strong at this time of year.

Every manufacturer tells you to use genuine approved parts. It will be the same with the washer fluid.

I'm sad enough to actually do this for my car and it is actually the best fluid out there, if like simonpolly says, you are tha a nal!  :nerd:
