Do you think the 115 post R-Tech might be passable? He says he thinks its quicker than his 170bhp Octavia

Yep the seller. Well he's doing the talking his wife is the reg keeper.

I think he's saying that because I wanted to know if it is definately the 150. He's saying he thinks it could have been remaped.

I've only driven one and they said it was the 150, but it had the arm rest. One insurance company thought it was the 130, one thought it was the 150 and HPI didn't say so I haven't got much to compare it to.

It's going up on the hoist tomorrow for my MOT tester to have a good poke around and it will be getting a RAC HPI if I go for it. Should I HPI the old reg or the private plate?

Thinking about it it can't be a 110 because it's got a 6 speed. If a remaped 115 goes to 244 lbft of torque then would it be ok on a stock clutch? :undecided:

Whip up the bonnet and look at the engine.

The 150s had the intake pipe going to the passenger side and the 130,115 went into the driverside arch.

Above is the 150

Right it's a 130, checked the engine number and it's ASZ, it's 96kW and it has the arm rest. It's got the HIGHL (Highline) in the right places which I believe indicates it's the GT? That’s just what I want.

I got the reg wrong it's actually K18 RJD but I can't find anything on the insurance database. Quote without the reg is about £590a year.

VIN number matches up. FSH checks out and it's been UK registered since manufacture. Got the past few MOT’s with one failure for wiper blade failing to clear the windscreen. The full VOSA printout shows a few advisories in years past for worn brakes but the disks callipers and pads look very new.

It drives very nicely, I thought I had possibly noticed a tiny flat spot but couldn't get it to do it again. I think possibly the MAF might need a clean as the engine bay is quite dusty and looks like it could do with a jet down. It has climate control not air con and does not have traction control but does have the button next to it begging with E, is this EDL, EBD, ESP or something? It can be turned on and off.

Took it to the garage let my mechanic have a good poke around. All seems mechanically sound. One rear panel seems ever so slightly off but my mechanic says he's checked thoroughly and can't see any sign of any crash damage or the likes at all.

Body work seems to be in excellent condition and interior is very clean. Bad points one of the front alloys has a slight curb but this would probably come up nice with a light refurb and the cover seems to have come off the arm rest. Easily fixable I'm sure. The steering wheel seems to have a lot of wear and I'd been keen to replace it, probably with a R32 wheel.

Thought and opinions appreciated.

Yep Highline = GT

ESP = Electronic Stability Program / traction control
Otherwise it will be ASR like on mine

EDIT - just seen the first post Whats the mileage on this one and what price is it up for?
See if you can get it for 3K

It's the same one mate. 125,600 miles and asking price is £3,495ONO

The price is negotiable but he doesn't sound like he will negotiate too far as he seems very confident in it selling this week. The faults I can pick for haggling so far are:
The curbed alloy (they are very nice alloys mind)
The rear panel
The spare wheel doesn’t have a tyre on it
The steering wheel is worn
The arm rest top cover has come off
It has tax for a disabled person so effectively no tax
Timing belt was last done at 80K so I've told him it's due at 120K and will cost at least £400 (I could actually leave it until 140K and it will cost me closer to £200)

If I go for it I'll be letting my mechanic drive it like I did with the one in Bradford and I need to remember to check all the doors, CD player etc.

That's what I'm thinking. And if not I'll get off as much as I can but if the HPI checks out it's probably worth the asking price?
