At the end of the day if you want to go fast then you don't buy a Golf.

Getting back on topic 150K on a V6 should be ok as long as no signs of accident damage/abuse and find out how long the person selling it has owned it, dont expect the 4 motion to be cheap to repair though

the gti t wasnt cheap to fix and I never really got it sorted after plus £500.00 just on the engine still falts coming up thought a normal asperated engine might be a better option.

Can you just explain to me in bullet proof format ..... how you came to that remark ? i.e. "Cos for a 150BHP car, they're sh!t."

Because i really dont understand how you can say that! They are quite literally bullet proof!

Sadly out of the box the Mk4 Golf handles poorly and 150bhp in a car that weights approx 1300Kg is never going to set the world on fire performance wise

Whilst the engine block itself maybe bullet proof, the pipe work and ancillaries fitted to the engine are quite poorly designed IMO   Also the number of common faults that occured seems rather high  :undecided:

my last golf cost me lots of money and it still wasnt right sorry all the turbo fans

Whats to stop this high mileage (150k is a lot of miles before anyone begs to differ) V6 from being the same?

Its a very narrow minded view to take imo.
