:lipsrsealed: @ hot water

does the mk5.5 not come with heatd screen then  :undecided:

skoda - jump in, leave running for 5 minutes, have a smoke, reply to any texts I got overnight and ta dar, windows all melted

faaaakineeel... that is serious heaterz you has in your car... normally people just want the ice to melt!

hot water runs the risk of cracking your screen due to shock and once it gets cold again it freezes.

de-icer is crap for your paintwork and also your rubber seals.

i am liking the sound of the windscreen cover

I find closing the garage door works a treat, but for the really cold nights I stick the heater on in there too

Thats what I thought too, but in the GTI manual VW says I should spray my headlight washers with de-icer.  I havent done it and dont think I will, as I wouldnt use it on my windows either.
