Guys, many thanks for all your help. Very much appreciated. I think I'll go for the USB stick then. Have a great Christmas and New Year and don't poke me with a poker if I get stuck down your chimney. Despite what the elfs have been saying, I'm really not into that sort of thing.

Just slightly off topic, but the only way I can navigate around my music collection appears to me via the RCD-510's screen. Other than the 'fwd/rwd one track' on the MFSW, is there any other way of using the steering wheel controls to navigate around my collection, and using the display between the clocks? I'm not happy diverting my attention to the RCD... Thanks.

I wonder how fast an RNS / RCD would read the music off a 64gb stick though?!

There are quite a few folk who claim to have 500Gb hardrives attached to the USB slot and it reads them instantly so I don't think your 64Gb will have any problem.

Granted I had been putting folders inside folders and at the last count probably had around 5000 folders when the maximum is 400 or 2048 files.

Just to check, if I get a large memory stick, like 64gb, will I be limited to 400 folders/2048 files or does this only apply to the SD cards?

DDG, I think I read somewhere else on this forum that you can't use the steering controls to navigate with any of the external media sources (ipod, memory stick, HD or SD cards) although I might be wrong.

I love the versatility of the RCD510. When I am driving I use my Sony MP3 walkman via the media in. I have my wife’s music on a 2gb SD card plus some more on a USB stick, (when I am using the walkman elsewhere.) I have also put more MP3’s on CD’s.

If you don’t want to go to the expense of an MP3 player, a USB stick will be the best option.
