pulling my hair out....(mk1 cab exhaust)

My problem is (i'm assuming it's running a ashley manifold) with is the bolted to a 2 ft length of pipe which inturn i would imagine then fits the new centre section exhaust......

unsure if this is how it's supposed to be? can anyone help? what i mean is is this a norm for a 16v converion on a mk1 cab?

Whats the problem? doesn't it fit together, or haven't you tried? lay it all out, and see if it will just fit.. if not, then i guess you're missing bits!
