And I take it I'd need to get to Hinckley for it to be done properly? Could you please tell me the major differences between the R-Tech map and something such as this:

Nick,
What is the price of a R-Tech Spec1 remap for a golf?
If I was to have a remap done on a Golf 4 1.9 TDI PD 150 by R-Tech and took it to 190bhp do you have any figures on estimated 0 - 60 and top speed I might expect?
And if I decided I wanted to make other performance enhacing mods would you recommend doing these before or after the remap or does this not matter?
Cheers,
Mike
Hello,
The 110 AHF & ASV engines uses the older mechanical pump fuel delivery and the by remapping you will get close on 140bhp, but by fitting .216 nozzles. and a custom remap should see you closer to 160+bhp, for more power you will need a bigget turbo and remap to match.
If your looking for a and your planning on tuning go for one of the PD version, 115bhp 130bhp or 150bhp, all of the PDs can be tuner really well with the stock parts, plus its very easy to go donw the bigger turbo route.

0-60 time for a remapped 130pd on the will be around 2 seconds flat....on the dyno..lol in the real would I would not have a clue, but in most cases a remap will shave 2 seconds off a 3/4 mile time. The price of the remap will be £250 all inc, which includes rr and diagnostics.

Tuning box and a good remap = night and day

40bhp 60lbft from a tuning box which only changes the fuel injection quantity, IMO I think is a bit optimistic. If I remapped a TDI by another 40bhp just by adding extra fuel then there would be lots of smoke, to keep the black smoke down you need to up the boost to clean the burn. With a remap you can change the injection timing, software torque limiters, Fuel IQ on a linear scale, IQ vs boost to limit the smoke, pump scales ect..
The box might well give the power gains, but I have never see a box make quoted power more like 25bhp/35lbft.
