Hi,
I'm the process of sourcing an edition 30. I've test driven two so far and it's the first time I've ever driven DSG.
I've experienced a strange behaviour when using the paddle shifts on the second car which I can't figure out if it's "how they work (tm)" or a fault. Searching in this forum or others has revealed no similar experiences.
When driving in manual mode, and at a sedate pace, when trying to change from 2nd to 3rd by pulling the + paddle, nothing happened. Pulling a 2nd or 3rd time resulted in the desired upshift. Sadly I didn't test shifting with the gearstick cause I forgot about that method and I don't remember if the same thing happened when down shifting. When 'pressing on', nothing similar was experienced, and using the D/S auto modes revealed nothing similar.
The same behaviour was experienced whether specifically in manual mode, or whether in 'induced manual' mode as a result of pulling the paddles when in the auto modes.
Can anyone experienced please let me know if this is a) "just how they work sir (tm)" b) something weird that needs further attention c) a symptom of a known fault on these cars.
Is it possible that the manual gear shift was ignored cause I was driving too slow? I didn't experience this in the 1st car, although on that occassion I was not held up by traffic and pressing on most of the time.
The car is an 08 plate.
cheers.
