Bonnet Bra

Now I know most people on here hate them and I aint exactly the biggest fan, however as I mainly do motorway journeys, I am finding this time of yr am having more and more stone chips! Hence the bonnet bra. Brought it from www.van-x.co.uk it aint no r-line or anything but was wondering how to fit it as no instructions came and the guy said he will send me some but as the post aint wicked at the mo, I could be waiting for some time and have finished washing the car and wanna put it on!

You relise you will probaly get more damage to your bonnet by fitting a bonnet bra, as all the crud gets trapped under it and can scratch the hell out of your bonnet, just a warning so if you do fit it then remove it atleast once a week and give the bonnet a good clean and maybe a layer of wax on the front end to keep it protected. Seems odd that no instructions were provided with it :S

my bonnet bra has worked wonders!

On mine, there are 2 long cords with a metal hook on the end! You remove two of the plastic clips that hold the sound deadening  fabric to the underside of  bonnet, and then put the hooks in place of those, then tighten to fit
Keep it clean mate and its fine! I put a layer of wax under mine

personally id get a r line one if you can mate... you can pick them up fair cheap around £40, i think i paid £45 for mine in the original box never used....

however you do need to keep taking it off and cleaning underneath it! ive heard some horrible stories of people leaving them on for a couple of weeks it has rained and the movement of the bra has caused damage to the paint underneath specially if any grit gets trapped down there! this means a nice new bonnet respray which is a fair amount!

i left mine for a couple of weeks in the rain and somehow it reacted with the paint underneath the bra and caused small bubbling effect in my paint...i was gutted, got the t cut out and went at it with tht it seemed to clear a bit of it but not all so i took the bra of and went for a drive....a mirecal must of took place and when i next looked it was all gone nice and none bubbly lol.....i fear if id of left it on any longer it would have caused some permanent damage tho!
