Heavy Clutch
« on: 03 December 2009, 23:48 »
I find the clutch on my '02 GTi T to be just too heavy.

I thought hydraulic clutches were meant to be light. It's becoming more of a problem with my knee injury, so I'm wondering, is it heavy, or is that normal? Other cars they're lighter.

Have you had a race clutch fitted? Could be you need a hydraulic fluid change. TBH I don't know how you would do this.

If you want a really light clutch use the VR6/G60 combo found in the maintenance section.

Standard clutch.

Perhaps I could do a fluid change and see what happens.

IIRC my standard clutch was not the lightest in the world.

The std clutch on mkivs is heavy, unless yours is a 5 speed then you'll have to live with it.
