there are some crazy people out there corgi

do a bit of research mate

i for one would rather have a black one

I did my research... bought a black, manual, 5-Door, import but full UK Spec and it cost me  much closer to £17K than £18K. Brand new and unregistered... quite a lot of change from £26K even if it is of a lower spec... And will its value be effected when its three years old... not really...

^^his is manual, 2 year warranty, and an Import thats why he only payed that Nick.He wont recover as much come trade in, and side by side between say mine and a Poverty spec, i wouldnt touch the Povert spec one, and nor would a GTi enthusiast if he reads about the car.

Pretty much all 5 door DSG Edition30's are holding better value because they are in a different class in the dealers sale books.Hense why 5 door DSG's are very few and far between and certainly not below 18k.

I agree, Candy white Dsg, Good spec cars are going for that money.

3 door GTI's have taken abit of a hit with the introduction of the Scirocco.

ok carl so its white 5 door manual i guess and what plate and mileage?  15 and a half for  an 57 ed30 is a very good deal but they are around and common in comparison unlike the dsg white ones. maybe in a few months it will change but for the last 2 years the white dsg's have been holding a lot more value. im hoping its just a fad and people will realise black is the way forward in a few years when i think about chopping in mine!

the white one is a 57 reg with 24k miles and their is dsg 5 doors for £17295 19k miles 07 reg so i could get that close to 16k cash, also others under 18k.
GTI manual PP, now sold  :-(

oh ok phil i see what you mean, still a very good price for a brand new one i remember motorpoint had loads of new ones going quite cheap a couple of years ago were they imports then? i hope the steering wheels are on the right side!!

carl- if you could get the 07 DSG with 19k miles on it for 16 and a half i think that would be a great deal even the white ones a good price last time i looked there was a 57 plate at 24k miles for 18 and a half just depends if your after the manny tranny or not

I said its an import...

Once it is three years old its value will be little or no different from any other Ed30 of the same spec...

I can purchase the third year of warranty for much less than he difference...

The thing that swung ot for me was a VW Dealer (who shall remain nameless) was selling one the same as mine with the addition of DSG and Xenons but a year older (with 9K miles) for £6K more than I ended up paying for mine... makes DSG and Xenons look like very expensive options to me... or I hammered out a pretty good deal.

I was very pleased with picking it up for what I paid...
