After market gauge. Where from and which ones?
« on: 02 December 2009, 23:54 »
After finding where I’m going to be buying my A pillar pod gauge from, I’m now left with what I should put in it. I have gone for a twin gauge pod. One of these will have a Boost gauge, but what should I use for the second one?

Boost            (psi)
Oil pressure  (psi)
Oil temp       (deg C)
Volt

The questions are:-

1 Which one to go for?
2 How hard will it be to plum/wire them up to a 1.8T AGU engine
3 Where to get the gauges?

I have found that Awesome do these but they seem very ££££ to others out there but they follow the Mk4 dash colour sceam very well. If I could find another place that did the same colours but cheaper that would be mega.

got for hmmm oil temperature i reckon

Newsouth Gauges are good pieces of kit

Boost gauge is easy enough - can't help with the oil temp though

Go for Boost pressure and Oil temp!

Boost pressure is easy one to fit, just plumb it in at the fuel regulator.
For Oil temp I believe there's a spare plug at the Oil Filter Housing you can use.  Just searched for a thread I read about it recently, can't find it, soz... :undecided:

Go for the gauges you've posted below, they'll look great against the stock dials!

I love the newsouth dials , they look awesome

I meant to tell everyone about this but forgot! In Vw performance last month there was a great article about guages! And to be honest analog guages are really dying out now!

Newsouth look great as they match the dials, but VW performance raved over this site! they are US based, but deliver world wide!

Check it out guys! digital FTW

Cheers chaps for the advice.
Im more likely going to stick with the old analog gague as i think it will look beter in the car with the rest of the dash being the same way.
I was thinking more oil pressure because dosn't that also rely on temp to get the pressuer up.
