Went to visit dealer today...

Revo Dealer that is..

Took about an hour or so but after uploading my current map to revo they sent down the latest map. Stuck it on the car and bob's your uncle. After speaking to the dealer he did mention that alot of people go for the generic map, however with each car being totally individual, its always better to adjust the settings to suit your own driving style and car.

From what I can remember its running on 6-6-4, although this will change as I switch back to 99ron and give it a few tankfuls for it to settle. Will go back in a couple of weeks for an update.

Well..... your probably wondering if the difference is noticable. OMG would be an easier way to describe it!! Immediately from start the car seems to have a little more urgency to it, and is ready to go. Second is pretty much the same story, with slippery roads it doesnt just spin as i thought it would but is very progressive, and allows you to apply the power slowly but surely. The increase in torque means no more downshifting to find the power... its just there.

In 3rd and it throws you back into your seat... it really is that much of a difference. why didnt GTI's come like this out of the box??? Coming from the R32 the GTI never felt fast... if not a little slow if I am honest. Now it pulls like a train!! Same story in 4th 5th & 6th. once the turbo kicks in it goes.

Overall one very happy bunny  Looking forward to a couple of tankfulls of 99Ron and then another visit to dealers.. because if there is more power to be had than this I would be very suprised!!

final word..... getitdone

P.S Just to add that if anyone in the Leeds area want their car remapping then I was offered a good discount... so PM me for details

Well done that man!
Good isn't it?

Revo Kev told me the settings can't be adjusted the same on the mk6, only the fuel programs. Unless they have changed the maps? I'll have to have a word with either Revo or my local dealer.

I was told that there is a new patch that they would be sending down... how new I am not too sure. The dealer did mention that the MK6 GTI fuels alot better than the MK5... and therefore the maps are quite different.

Yeah, I think that's because of the better fuel pump in the EA888 Gilly

I'll check with Revo about software updates, I'd hate to think I'm missing out on a couple of bhp!

Definately worth following up.... switching to 99 may well be worthwhile also before you do so

Has it made giving up the R32 a little easier to live with then?

It's quite amazing the difference eh? How the car should feel from the factory.

Most definately! Also got a huge improvement in mpg too this morning

Usually average 36-38mpg on the way to work... this morning I managed 40.7mpg. Providing you stay away from the "zone" the low down torque really is wonderful, and I can only add to the numerous people on here chosing remaps, revo imparticular :nerd:

Heh everyone

Has anyone used VW's remap and if so is it decent enough to bother with? I only ask cos it's quite pricey but there is no revo dealer anywhere near here.
