R888's seem to have gone up in price!
« on: 26 November 2009, 19:10 »
Having a browse as I need 2 new ones for next year and when I looked earlier in the year they seemed to be about £60 each, now they seem to be over £70 each.

Places like Camskill etc are no longer even listing prices, just POA.

Two price hikes in 6 months.

Exchange-rate sh*ttiness.

It's weird though as T1R's have tumbled in price. You can get a set of 4 delivered for £116!

No they haven't

Not delivered and fitted.  They're still around £42-45 fitted and balanced.

There are some special offers about, but with carriage and fitting they come out pretty much the same, in my experience.

And before some clever c*nt swings in - I know if you have mates in the trade you can do it lots cheaper, but that depends on having tyre-bay-based mates.

Well I can get 4 T1R's delivered for £116 and the local independent tyre fitters do fitting and balancing for £25 for 4 wheels. So that's £35.25 each delivered, fitted, balanced and with new valves.

Lucky you, the local tyre robbers around here charge £10 minimum for fitting and balancing and thats on a wheel thats already off the car.

Have you tried Ears motorsport for a price on the R888's, they are usualy very cheap on tyres.

The £25 is for wheels that are not fitted to a car. I'll look up Ears Motorsport, cheers for the tip.

Mark PM on it's way shortly!

If the price of living somewhere as nice as the IOW, or Bristol is £10 each to fit tyres then it's a price I'm willing to pay every day
