I've got a slightly different winter regime, wash car in October, leave it for a bit, wash car again in March.
I'd do it more often but it gets a bit cold outside this time of year and the wife won't let me bring the car in through the patio doors so I can wash it inside in the warm.

No, the polish has a bit of cut to it but the clay just pulls off stuff that a wash can't get off (tar, heavy brake residue, bird poop)

.....pretty soon the gritters will be here, prepare people!!

Today I trolley jacked the red beast up, took wheels off, washed, clayed, washed, dried, polished, waxed, then sealed them. No salt will get me!!!!

I admire your dedication! But is there an easier way to protect our wheels from the dreaded salt?!

NO
Once you apply wax to your alloys, you realise how easy it makes cleaning them in the future. The dirt literally just washes away.
