When the dealer contacted me yesterday, I asked whether I will be told the reg no when he rings me tomorrow and he said he couldn't see why not. It'll be interesting to see which dealer's right although going by previous experiences, I reckon my guy's probably got it wrong 

Guess all we can do is laugh at this latest hitch as we've all probably been through every other emotion already

Does the Official Bluetooth (Teleprep) kit get you a sharkfin aerial on top if i've just got an RCD-510.?

Can anyone with a the official VW phone kit and NOT an RNS answer my question?

I don't have it but the answer to your question is yes, vw factory bluetooth does include a shark fin aerial.

Yes VW phone kit deffo comes with sharkfin with the RCD

Thanks Neil and Jimble.  Thats one was bugging me for a while as I didnt fancy having a naked roof, and a beesting aerial would look out of place on a Mk6.

Went in to visit my dealer this morning.  Although Dialog still shows as "on ship," he is pretty sure that it's here in the UK and awaiting a transport to Haywards Heath.  He reckons a Friday pickup this week for me!  I cant wait!

Glad to see customer service is cr4p at all dealerships. A few comments to ease the pain..

1. most large dealers can register the car themselves with the DVLA system, so provided a striker hasn't turned it off thent he dealer can still register a car without speaking to DVLA
2. i got told my reg number as the car arrived at the delaer, so i could sort out the insurance etc
3. I paid the balance with my switch card.My bank, HSBC, so have a £10k per day limit for electronic transfer (i found out as ihad to send a house deposit through over several days !)  but no issue with a debit card transaction.

get yourself some mudflaps, cos i'm sick of taking tar off my Mk6 - its been washed twice and both occassions I found 50+ tar spots, including the rear spoiler !

The dealer has had the car since Thursday night and still has not told me

As official member of the August orders club I can announce my wait is over. Picking the car up tomorrow morning at last. Lucky really because my paperwork just managed to get through before this strike pish from the DVLA.
