Even though the list of options does not reflect options I had when ordering, here is what I selected:

- RCD 510 Dynaudio
- Park assist w. rear-view camera
- Storage pack
- Xenon
- DSG
- Tinted windows
- Alarm
- 18-inch monzas
- Media-IN
- Cruise (standard)

Don´t know what is included in the winter/luxury pack you guys get in the UK but the above could be entered in the "selected options" grid

my order was faxed over to me 15 minutes ago for signing  -  after a lot of homework!!!

3 door, cloth, manual, carbon grey

RCD 510 with Dynaudio
sunroof
18'' Monza Shadows
winter pack
cruise control
DAB radio
Lux pack
flat tyre indicator
VW Touch Phone (compatible with iphone)
Touring Safety Pack
Door Sill Trims - clear
Boot Sill Protector - clear

I don't know if I'm looking forward to getting it or whether I'm so bored with the whole thing that I'm now disinterested  -  no disrespect to all of the very very very helpful forum members who have been great  -  just a reaction to all the homework and the insults from SOME, only some, contributors.

Forget all of the negativity James, nice one with your order mate.

Liverlegend - good to hear yours is ready for shipment! did your dealer make the 1st move and contact you to tell you? I emailed my dealer this morning and only then he got back to me and said the good news that it is ready for shipment too!  (i do wonder when he would have contacted me though!). Did your dealer tell you approx how long from now until its ready for collection? I'm guessing around Mon 7th Dec!

I've updated the xls over on page 4 to reflect all us August guys, just need a couple more updates from the people who are blank on the spreadsheet.

Monza Shadows seem very popular, with the RCD-510.  Didnt someone mention a rumour of RCD's holding up the produiction?  Also a lot of leather seats!  I hope there's enough cow in Germany!   :D

Hi,

A long time reader and thought it was about time I contributed.  I ordered a Tornado Red GTi on 17th August and was intially given an estimate of 12 to 16 weeks until I could pick it up.  The unconfirmed build week has continued to slip right and I was told yesterday that my new build week is 06/10, still unconfirmed!  I phoned VW customer service this morning and was advised, how true all this is I don't know, that the dealers were notified by VW back in September to warn their customers of possible long delays due to more orders than expected across the Golf range.  I was also told there had been a supply problem with the RCD 510, but that this had now been resolved.

I also asked about the VAT increase and was told that even though my order was made in August, VW would honour the price until 28 Feb 10, after which I would have to pay any VAT increase!!

If you want to add me to the orders info, I ordered a Tornado red Gti, with Xenons, cruise control, RCD 510 with DAB and MDI and the  flat tyre indicator.  I ordered the car through Morden VW in London.

Welcome matee, just wait for Snoopy to add you to the list on the first page, and i'll include you on our spreadsheet.

I got some bad news myself yesterday, ordered 07/august - now unconfirmed build week of 07/10.  As for VW customer services giving you the spiel about "your dealer should've told you that theres a long wait" - Thats horse sh!t, and I told the guy at VWCC, that the day that I went to order my car, VW's own website quoted a 12 week delivery time, with possibly up to 16 weeks, so dont go blaming the dealers!

Edit - How many doors Scottie ?  3 or 5 ?

Hi Spooner,

3 door model, no kids so the obvious choice for me!  Not surprised at the spiel to be honest, but I am growing more and more unhappy as time goes by.  I was livid at the suggestion by VW that they see no issues with getting cars to people by 28 Feb 10, but if not you can pick up the extra VAT!

mastka - I just send them an email now and then for an update. They normally get straight back to me, sent one on Monday but the person I was dealing with was on holiday, she got back to me this morning saying it was on the ship and I should get it in around a weeks time!

Liverlegend - yeah i guess thats the same as me in terms of the dealer does get back to me quite soon after i contact them.

in a week would be brilliant, and far quicker than i would of thought! i wonder if our cars get shipped at the same time, dont know how many times they ship per week, and also to which ports in the uk! im based in the midlands, so i aint got a clue which port would be used if they dont all go to the same port anyway!?

i thought i would ring VW CS to double check, and they said it is ready for shipment, and to be with my dealer in 10-15 days, so i am unsure yet whether it will be that length of time or sooner! my dealer estimated 2-3 weeks from now! he also said i can choose from a limited number of plates for my new reg after asking him! dont know how useful or good that will be!

Snoop,

I've emailed you another updated xls, tidied up the formatting a bit.

Why not stick this on the bottom of your first post on page 1, along with the order dates?

Thanks.
PS i did put it there as well.
