...anything from the dealership so far today, JJH?

Relatively good news I suppose, in a way great news as I aint gonna be cancelling the Golf. I have a confirmed build week commencing 19th April, BW16. Learnt their system has been set at +1 week so they expect it to be built bw15. I told them that probably means arrival in the uk BK18, delivery, one working day later; they agreed. Overall, bizarrely, I'm satisfied with that.

Yesterday I went through a list of alternative motors and kept coming back to the mk6 so at the end of the things are going to turn out all right. BTW, saw a spanking candy 3rd R yesterday at a dealers, it looked well trick, surprising small though.

Only thing left to sort with the dealers is their 'good will' gesture........

My new GTI is just superb

Well, I've had her since 15th and all I have say is WOW! What a superb car, the build quality is top class and whole package just comes together to give a visual and driving treat. I have to say, I'm soooo  pleased that I chose carbon grey, surely this has to be the ideal colour for this car.
If I wanted to be really picky, I would mention I'd had a small drip from the rear washer [Which I haven't used yet] it just let out a few drops then stopped [probably due to water in pipe expanding due to higher ambient] If it doesn't do it on a regular basis I may be able to live with it.
You're probably fed up with new GTI pics, but I've put some in anyway [Note the GTI key ring - £11 from VW accessories]

Very , very nice. Oh to get behind the wheel of a GTI. I have been driving diesels for the best part of the last 15 years so I think when the GTI arrives I am in for a real treat.

Very nice mate.

That process is for standard lamps.
Can the DRL's on the Xenons be turned off without VAG-COM?
This has been covered many times over the last year on all the forums the same question kept getting asked 'Thats for standard lights what about xenons' but when the procedure was posted in conjunction with the many many xenon questions and said try it no one said it did not work until now. I thought i got it to work on an 09 white demo xenon GTI at my dealers, i don't know if he ever noticed afterwards.
