Are they not standard on the GTI? I didn't spec them yet have them all on mine. The auto-dimming rear view mirror is cool :-)

Yes- you're right.

The Convenience Pack is part of the Luxury Pack that you can specify on the GTI as they are not both available together - my mistake.

The Luxury Pack (which I have) is : Automatic dimming interior rear-view mirror, automatic headlights on with coming/leaving home lighting function, electrically foldable door
mirrors, door mirror puddle lights, reverse activated kerb-view adjustment on passenger’s door mirror, front footwell illumination and rain sensor

I  gave the dealer a ring just before Xmas to find out what the latest was with my order. He confirmed if I don't like the hire car I'm offered- VW will say what the hire car will be next month- apparently I can keep my existing car until the new motor arrives without affecting the P/X price agreed back in August. I said my current car will need its MOT in March and, if I've still got it, he said I don't need to worry about the cost of having that done. As long as it doesn't need any work done to it I guess !!

Fingers crossed it won't come to that but it's a nice gesture anyhow. No mention of any compensation but if I get the new car in March that'll be good enough to me. After hearing about a few of the dealers not being that helpful on this forum, there are a few good guys out there !

Nothing new to update I'm afraid, I'll be speaking to the dealer on Monday when I drop my present motor in for the courtesy car.  Hopefully no bad news!
