Ive just tried removing the oil filter on my 1997 1.9tdi.
When I unscrewed the filter I noticed that the mounting bolt appears to have unscrewed as well and is attached to the filter. There is also what appears to be a heater between the filter and the housing.
My problem is that there is not enough room to extract the filter and remove the centre bolt.
I guess my only option is to try to refit the filter & bolt into the housing, but its proving difficult as it covered in old oil.
Anyone experienced this and how did they fix it?
