MK2 CENTRAL LOCKING

How easy would it be to fit this to my 3 door? Would i be able to wire an alarm up to it?

not difficult putting it in but getting it going might take sometime as it uses a pneumatic system so needs to have all the tubes and to be air tight it will work with central locking on alarms and the kits you see for keyless entry.
if you really want central locking its alot better than the electric version mines forever bugging out.

i know the feeling if your after an alarm your goner fit yourself that do the trick on the cheap.
but if you want decent one for insurance and make sure no one makes off with it in a hurry lowcostcaraudio.co.uk do some cobra's with fitting and certificates for insurers. think immobilisers are about ?30 plus ?60 fitting and alarms are ?130 fitting its not cheap but worth it in the long run.

Yeah, i know it will be good in the long run, but i can't really justify spending that on the car at the moment! The car unfortunately isn't worth a great deal more!  :'(

I'd just use the maplin kit
as the vw setup still needs an electric servo to lock the drivers door

the maplin setup is a doodle to fit
mount the servos on the inside edge of the door below the lock button
connect the rod with the thing maplin supply to the lock button rod
then wire it up

i got them in mine but i think there is something wrong when the door is open they click everynow and then and if i lock the passenger door and not my own it opens it self. its weird cause if i lock the passenger door the drivers should lock also. i didnt put it in but i think im goner rip it out and replace it cause its driving me insane :S

the non locking from the passenger side means it has a two wire servo on the passenger side not a four wire as needed to do that 
unless you are onabout the vw locking which does'nt work the locking from the passenger side

nah its an after market kit and your right it does only have 2 wires to the passengers servo but thats not the problem. think something is wrong with the regulater thingy or the drivers servo cause it keeps on clicking to open even tho it is open sometimes the passenger door doesnt unlock ive been over the thing but i have no clue what the person who wired it did its got wires going everywhere and there is no servo in the boot well dont think there is.

im jsut goner rip it out and fit new one that i understand :S

pop the drivers door panel off and check the servo rod as if its too tight it will unlock or lock randomly
