Sold my GTI
« on: 20 November 2009, 14:01 »
I've been a member of these parts since picking up my shiny new MKV GTI back in March 2008, I read posts here a lot but haven't always posted myself.

Unfortunately the GTI is off to pastures new ... but the good news is I'm now the owner of a BMW Z4M Coupe, which is utterly crazy!

I'm going to miss the Golf immensely, it's utterly brilliant and does just about everything you could want a car to do. It may not be the fastest or sharpest looking hatch in standard trim but it easily has the broadest range of abilities.

It's a brilliantly sensible car, but it was time for something brilliantly insane instead, which the Z4M certainly is! :)

I traded the Golf in with BMW, who I think plan to sell it on to a local dealer. If you're after a MKV GTI and spot a Red 2008 3dr GTI with just under 16k miles around the Midlands than it may well be my old one. It's a good 'un and was ran religiously on V-Power for every single tank from day 1.

Have fun in your GTI's everyone!

:)

I've a BMW 2 seater in the garage.
It's faster than my remapped GTI.

I never use it.

Strangely I did exactly the same thing and bought a Z4M Roadster 2 months ago. The worst thing you'll find about it is the fuel consumption but the mad noise and speed soon make you forget it. I still lurk on here a bit as my GTI was a great car, and I kind of hope its new owner would turn up on here so I could be happy it went to a good home. Go and introduce yourself on www.z4-forum.com

Golf GTI's are just so much better, day in day out than BMW Z4's.
Plus you actually look like a real plonker in a Z4 (unless you are a good looking blond female youngster)

Tough but true.

I have a strange feeling it wouldn't be just a Z4 you'd look a plonker in.

Jason Stokes,
You might look quite daft too.

Jason King and all that.
