Wake up to smashed window...............bad times!!!!
« on: 18 November 2009, 16:39 »
Woke up to my alarm going off at 5am this morning. First i thought it might have been caused by the bad winds.........oh no!!!

Some fuc?*&g tube had smashed mine and 2 other cars side windows!!!!!!

Thankfully cause my windows are tinted they didn't go through fully and with the alarm going off whoever is was did one straight away!

Other cars had stereos stolen and other stuff. Guess i was lucky with that one.

Thing that really pissed me off was Autoglass. Because of the rain and the fact i was on a busy street they wouldn't come out and fix the problem, nobs!!! If i was to take it in i would have to wait a few days for it to be fixed as they were really busy! Good service.....not!!

After calming down i just went to my local garage in sheff and was sorted in no time. Even had a good chat with Hurdy too  (nice motor by the way)

Don't mind too much about the window as i know it can be replaced, it's the pissing around trying to fix it and knowing whoever it was are laughing there heads off about it

Horrible news.

My GTI's alarm sensor can be a bit sensitive and be triggered by a large truck passing too close to it. Each and every time I have jumped out to check on it just to make sure it's okay so can imagine the shock you faced.

As for autoglass, once wanted to buy some sticky pads to stick my mirror on the windscreen (kept falling off and halfrauds glues and pads weren't working) and they gave me them for free. My sister needed to use them once and they came the next day once police had been and got it sorted perfectly fine.

I used them about 4 years ago for the same thing, a smashed window. Within 30 mins of me phoning them i was down the workshop getting it fixed. Today though different story!!!!

Bad news, did you have an aftermarket tint on, as I wouldn't have thought that a factory tint would make much difference (if being smashed)?

Glad you got the car up and sorted.

Idiots who do that to cars need serious amounts of re-alignment.....I have such an implement that could work to do it

Good to talk "shop" with you too today.
