Very interesting. I'd love to get rid of the horrible yellow light.

Just had this reply from Leading Lights:

Hi,

Many thanks for your enquiry. These are replacement standard
bulbs so will not be any different to what you already have.
Hope this helps.

Kind regards

Over on a German forum, there is a post about some Osram H15 60/19W bulbs, as per pic below. They seem to be a lot whiter?

Are the normal bulbs not H15 55/15w?

Dave

Hello everyone this is my first post.
I am ordering a new GTI next month.

Anyway light bulbs. I currently drive a Mitsubishi Outlander and the original light bulbs were shocking at best. So I bought a load of new bulbs for all lights including side and fog lights as well as main beam. They are all extremely bright and look white.
I bought them at this link and found the sales man extremely helpful.

Welcome to the board, Captain. The BIG problem with the Golf's bulbs is that they're a weird new format (H15) and for the moment Osram are the only people that make them. What we don't like is the fact that the DRLs have a yellow tint.

So, as my GTi should be here in another month, has the H15 bulb aftermarket issue been solved now?

Anyone replaced them with something more whiter?

I don't believe there are any replacements yet.

yep, i really want to replace my H7s but am loathed to do so as the H15s will look even worse...

On the plus side, it makes the H7s look whiter.

In the mean time, could you not just turn your DRL's off?

I'm sure that I read somewhere that if you turn the ignition on, hold down the indicator stalk and pull the flasher, they turn off. To turn them back on, do the same but with the indicator stalk held up.

Can someone try it and tell me if that's right please?
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

DRLs can be activated/deactivated by using the headlamp lever.

Ignition off. Lights to 'O'. Left turn on indicator (down) while pulling back (flashing mainbeam), switch on ignition, hold for 4 seconds or so and you should here a beep. The DRLs are now off.

To reactivate is similar but you use Right turn on indicator (up) instead.

Its also in the manual
