What is RNS 510?

I've got an iPhone - should I be getting something from a company called Fiscon so that I can use my mobile in the car? Can I get it through VW when I place the order for the car?

RNS 510 is the Sat Nav equivalent of the RCD 510 stereo system, it also plays dvd's amongst other features, however i think the general consensus on here is that it is way overpriced.
Currently pootling around in our family wagen, a Tiguan SEL 😂

Oh, I see, you saying that if I spec to include Sat Nav, I get the RNS 510?

The optional phone prep, almost £400 (!), is apparently no good with an iPhone - what do I need?

Says here that it does apple phones just make sure, I got this from the dealer as they fit on arrival, £200 all inc fitting. Only thing I did was move it off the dash to just above the lights switch, its out the way and does not reflect on the windscreen or side windows.

If you have the RNS 510 then the advantage of having the Fiscon kit is that you can operate the phone via the touchscreen on the RNS 510.  Its been covered a lot on the forum....

If you can't afford the fiscon or don't want that, its not quite the size of a packet of 10 tabs and fits in any storage space when not in use, clip on/off.
