Cock - small reversing accident!
« on: 16 November 2009, 16:58 »
Reversing out of a really tight spot today I have very slightly scraped the black section of the rear bumper at the moment it just looks like some mud (car a bit dirty) but there are one or two slight gouges, 2 questions -

1. Is this something a smart repairer could fix?
2. How much is the black plastic section to buy (I'm assuming it is possible to remove the black section and it just screws into the body coloured section above?)

Cheers!

Gutted mate, but......

You may as well try and source an .:R32 rear bumper, or a colour-coded one.. Common mods, but look the nuts. :afro:
MKV GTI | Reflex Silver | 5-dr | Anthracite 17" | Manual | Highline MFD | Cruise | Revision 'D' DV | Dirty Pipes |

The GTD is like a blow up doll. The GTI is like a proper woman. Sure the doll might last longer, and the woman might have higher running costs, but which would you rather have?

The rear bumper was less than £50 when I last bought one. Exchange rate may have shoved it up a little though, but I'd reckon it will still be less than £100. If you put an ad in the wanted sections of VW forums you should be able to pick one up cheaply

Gah, good advice there

If it's any cosolation, at least it's only the plastic bumper, easily fixed one way or another!
