Speedo moving when stationary!?
« on: 16 November 2009, 12:33 »
Hi All,

I have had a few issues recently with my golf (1.8T GTI AGU), most of which I have fixed with your help. I fitted a new ignition amp and cleaned the throttle body.

As you expect when you clean the TB, the revs sit a little high for a while until the ECU sorts itself out. After a few miles when i initially start the car the revs sit at 800 as expected. But once I have moved it rarely goes below 1000 - 1200. I have probably done about 500 miles since cleaning it now, so surely it should have "learnt" by now?

In traffic on Friday when i was stationary, the Revs didnt seem to want to drop below 1500 despite being in neutral and stationary. Also a few times the speedo "flicked" back and forth between 0 - 5 mph even though I wasnt moving! What could cause this? Are they related?

Any help you could giev would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Paul

Maybe give you MAF a little clean and see if that helps.
I would have thort after 500miles the TB would have sorted is self out know unless you have left a little bit of rag stuck in there?
Does teh performance fill ok also? Are all ther pipe done up well?
TRANSFORM, & ROLL OUT!
