Drilled airbox

Any advantages for doing this , the last car i did it on it didnt make a lot of difference ...sounded a bit more throaty , but just used more petrol ..!!!  I already have a pipercross air filter , so is it worth it or will it just make the petrol consumption even worse .

don't bother IMO

the way i see it you'll be letting in warm air from your engine bay which is prohibitive to performace

i on the other hand felt less lag and better response but maybe it was it a heavier foot that night  definately improved in my opinion though-the old bill catching up to me seemed to agree

i'd agree with Rhyso, unless your drilling it to add a large cold air feed, i wouldn't bother swiss cheesing the arse out of it though!

i spoke to nick about this when we had the r/r day told him that i had drilled the airbox and tbh i does not make that much difference to heat soak as most of my holes are covered below the airbox with the chassis etc and its not actually near the engine feel your airbox after a run it doesn't get that hot

well i had a little play with the drill and "swiss cheesed" the air box ...definantly does feel a bit different , but not sure if it is in a good way . It also sounds a bit different which i'm not sure i like ..a bit to boy racer induction type noise for me so i guess its time to get another air box ...and this time leave it alone ..lol
