Rolling road result
« on: 14 November 2009, 16:42 »
Popped over to TSR in Bridgwater for a forum rolling road day on Saturday.
Quite pleased with the results, Revo'd GTI, no other mods came out at 260bhp @ 5500rpm and torque at 299lb ft @ 3750 rpm running Sainsburys super unleaded rather than decent fuel.
Nice smooth graph too.
Can't post up the graph as my scanner is in the attic but I'll see if I can find some photos of the car on the rollers.

The rollers seemed quite accurate for power, for example a 2.9 VR6 came in at 180bhp (190 book) and a mk2 Golf GTI 8v came in at 105bhp (112 book), bearing in mind those cars were quite old I would say the figures were about right. Most of the other cars had modifications so can't really be assesed for accurate figures but were coming out around what was expected.
‘25 8.5R, ‘23 8R, ‘20 8CS, ‘19 135iX, ‘19 TCR, ‘17 Ed40, ‘17 GTD, ‘15 7R, ‘13 GTI PP, ‘11 GTI, ‘09 GTI, ‘98 Ibiza Cupra, ‘05 GTI, ‘06 Polo GTI, ‘04 GT TDI, ‘05 Fabia vRS, ‘02 GTI T, ‘03 Ibiza TDI 130, ‘01 Leon 180, ‘89 mk2 16v, ‘99 Ibiza TDI, ‘96 VR6, ‘98 Ibiza TDI, ‘92 VR6, ‘88 mk2 8v, ‘92 Polo G40, ‘91 mk2 8v, ‘89 mk2 8v, 205 GTI 1.9, ‘83 mk1 GTI, ‘80 Scirocco GTI, plus some others I’ve forgotten

When they RR'd my car after the Revo remap, it came out with the 275hp figure quoted. I don't understand why you are only getting 260.

But did you have a before and after rolling road run to see what the actual gains were?

Places like that adjust the rollers so they road the figures they claim, that way they fool you happy

Only rollers I trust are the JKM ones in Portsmouth.

Actually ill think ull find it was prolly because he was using sh!tty sainsburys super unleaded 97 ron, If u look at revo's dyno it clearly shows massive improvements on 99/100ron fuel to that 95/97 ron, Thats where ur missing HP is, Ur map was designed for 99ron fuel not 97.

isn't the MK6 engine DESIGNED for 95 RON fuel though? Would there be any point in remapping it for 99 RON fuel?  :undecided:
