Jeeeeeeeez guys, bought mine on 113.5k with fsh and she drives like a dream. I believe these babies, serviced correctly are good for 200k+ am i right or what??

Mines just turned 159k

Brought it with 117k, head rebuilt and new k03 turbo at 126k after cracks were found while doing the head and remap at 130k, and it's been fine ever since, new clutch at 156k.

Don't worry, your not wearing it out as you may think, theres an old video on youtube of a 1992 topgear comparing two mk2 gti 16v's on is new with 5k on the clock and the other is an 87 reg 5 years older with 60k on the clock, in a 1/4 mile race guess which one had a 6 car lead?

The one with 60k on it...

Getting close on 139000 now, had a mk2 with 156000 engine was strong but the motorway crash barrier beat the body.

125k and still going strong, my last mk3 had 215k on clock and that was just as good aswell, so well looked after vw engine will go forever
