Advice please looking to purchase MK4 Golf

Morning All,

As above really i have just recently sold my 56 plate Astra 1.9 cdti 150. Due to us needing 2 cars and i have been looking at 2 VW one being the GT TDI 150 or the 1.8T GTI 180. I would just like you thoughts and opinions on the 2 cars. I have found this one on autotrader

mk4 a1 car mate.. if your looking for a car that will give you milleage  then go for the diesel.. if your looking to mod the carand have bit of fun  etc then 1.8t is the one.. and they arent that bad on jiuce compared to other trubo cars

Cheers for your replies guys. I am seriously looking at the 1.8T GTI what sort of gains could i be looking at from a remap, induction kit, Exhaust? would the engine cope with the extra power or would i have to change things on the engine? also what else could be done after these Mods?

I think the 1.8T is a sluggish car, needs revving to put away quick due to turbo lag and there's not much top end. Otherwise, comfortable car to live with and not a bad drive.

as standard yes.. but once remapped its a different story

I owne a 1.8t and take it from me if mpg is a major factor then go fo the tdi alllllldaylong ;-)
