Personally, I think the Mk6 looks wrong on 17's - they are too small. I'd get the 18's and look after them. Then when they get ugly, have them refurbed but in a painted finish like the 17's rather than machined/laquered. A clever man will get this done by VW under warranty, so there is no additional cost.

You're right, Mac - I'll look after them but I wouldn't have the patience to look after leather, the treating, the conditioning - cloth requies no work and holds it's look

A bit of advise i will give is whatever you choose as options be it leather, paint colour, wheels, lights do not base your decision on any photos you have seen. As the difference between real life and photos is huge when it comes to things to do with the mk6 for some reason.
