The truth of the matter is alot of people need to borrow the family brain cell and RTFM.

Theres also alot of posts on here that show simple things please simple minds.

Yeah, couldnt agree more. I also think there's a lot of people that think they are something they are not. You're one of them.

And I said all that without swearing too. Chuffed with myself so I am.

It looks to me as if some of the people who bought the Mk6 GTI would have prefered to buy the 4WD model R.
I suspect the GTI with the 03 turbo (1800 rpm) compared to the R with the 04 turbo (2500 rpm) is the better car.  So don't worry about the dubious advantages and savour the £7000 saved.  It will pay for at least 100 meals out for two (ie a lifetime).

i thought there was a G6gti specific forum  :undecided:

Don't you mean a G5.5gti forum

Seriously though, I remember the exact same thing between the MKIV and MKV forum and it all ended happily ever after. Just get used to it, 'cos it ain't gonna change!

I dont see the same happening mate, the mk4 owners realised they owned the inferior car quite quickly! Not enough difference between mk5 and 6.

Don't rise to it Snoopy.
I retorted to one of his more vitriolic rants once and everyone had a go at me instead! Considered departing myself but decided at the end of the day most users here are civilised humans. I just refrain from posting much instead. All that means is there are a few things I've done to my car that may be of interest to others and they're blissfully anaware of it rather than me face pointless comments from the few.  :lipsrsealed:

Personally ide rather have waited for the R, Because unfortunetly it is going to be a better car then the GTI, However the fact im driving round in my Gti now helps offset this. The only thing ide possibly take from the current GTI is the body styling as Im not a fan of the r, Even less so now ive learnt people can upgrade there 2.0TDI in an R kit. Everything else im sure is going to be better from the blue dials to the keyless ignition.
However not knocking you mkV boys down because i loved my MKV GTI, But the MKVI GTI is considerably better. My Opinion and ive had both. Saying that however if you'de bought your GTI on an 08 would it be worth the mucho £ to change, Prolly not but certainly the MKVI is better.

Is the R-line kit available in the UK for the Mk6?

I'm pretty sure there was similar kit available for the Mk5 in Germany, but it didn't come to the UK.

The R-line option isn't available for the Golf in the UK. But if you have the part numbers, the kit can be bought through dealers.

The title of this post is Golf R Review.

It is not open for an attack on whether it should be GTI only, let's face it VW make loads of cars and it's interesting to hear what peeps have done on their particular vehicle and whether that would benefit our GTI or TDI or GTD or even Audi and Seat all part of the big VW family.

If someone has a decent point to make let's hear it surely it doesn't matter if it's not GTI relevant.

Deep Black Pearl Mk7 GT TDI 150.
