Quick question.

Blue senser on 8v digi

For start up only or does it constantly work with the ecu?

Cheers for clearing that up.

So if my thermostat aint working properly it would have an effect on the blue senser?
Main reason i ask is i have changed it but no difference and last night when it was running rough i pulled the plug and drove down the road and no difference apart from the initial start up.

Yeah it the car is running cold all the time due to a stuck stat the ECU will be being running the car rich from the values from the blue sensor.

Not sure what it does when it's disconnected. Probably defaults to running rich.

ok cheers for that ill get a new stat in before i throw money at other things.
That ll explain the crap amount of miles im getting for £30.

The Digifant II ECU defaults to a safe/setup mode if it loses reading from one of its sensors (including the blue temperature sender).

This is why you disconnect the blue temp sender when tuning or setting up, and it's also why replacing the blue temp sender is a miracle cure for hesitant digis!

hmmm. any way i can check the plug going on to it? previeus owner has chopped wires and connected them back up with crimpon connecters for some reason.
Just like to check it for peace of mind.

Sorry to bang on with this but when i had an mot the co was 1.3 which i thought was bit too low so i took it round to my dad who has a co meter and with the senser unplugged it was reading 1.8 which is where i wanted it to be.I tweaked it up a bit anyway but in theory wouldnt that make it too rich?
I also had it set up on the old senser so do i need to do it again?

you are supposed to set the CO with the sensor unplugged and after you have revved the engine over 3k 3 times in a row. if you didn't do this, its wrong and needs setting up again.  You have read my digi FAQ right?

also with the sensor unplugged the ignition timing is pulled right back by the ecu so its gonna drive rubbish.  Fix it!
