AUM Breather system & "Suction jet pump" etc
« on: 04 November 2009, 17:54 »
In doing the N249 thang at the weekend noticed a nice amount of oil (old & new) around what I've now identified as the "suction jet pump" and associated pipework (part No.s 058133753B, 06A133782D etc).  What is all this pipework under the intake manifold, between the head breather (Y) and oil filter housing and where is it likely leaking off?

Been recently looking at the awesome breather kit, but seeing this problem area can't for the life of me work out how it would fit in/around all this guff.

Anyone got any bright ideas?

It's spaghetti junction down there. There are parts of pcv, secondary air pump, brake vac booster lines.. basically everything that relies on a vac/boost feed from the inlet manifold

To replace the whole lot is £160.. thats just the parts. Each of those little pipes is around £25 - £30 a piece. Get a torch in there and clean the muck off, you should be able to find a split or break. (just watch you dont damage adjacent pipes when replacing the broken one!)

I'm gunna tidy up the N249 bypass this weekend, so I'll give it all a clean down there at the same time see what I can see.

Any pointers to how the two "awesome" breather pipes fit?

still can't get my head around where the Awesome pipe goes either, either we're silly or the pipe's hidden.

Good luck mate! That awesome diagram makes no sense when you follow it on your car.
