just watched this, agrees it bodes well for the Golf R, especially as it is more practical, has 4wd and is even faster. cost will be a factor, but as Steve says, the Golf does feel expensive. can't help thinking though that the Golf GTI does 90% of what the Golf R does, but for much much less money. plus the GTI has more character with the red stitching, tartan seats and the GTI badge. All subjective, but then again petrolheads will buy with their hearts not with their heads!
