If they hammer it, then check the MFD, it will tell you the top speed they went including the average speed. you could always tell them you'll check that before they set foot in it.

It will tell you the top speed they went?
Is that an option in the MFD?

It will certainly tell you the average speed which means nothing.
I went to Dundee and back at the weekend doing over 90 the vast majority of the way there & back and on occasion over the ton (I was late, honest your honour) but when I checked my average when I got back it told me it was 42mph!!  Slowing down for average speed cameras, fixed cameras, traffic lights all bring the average down so doubt he would get much info after the delivery driver has delivered it.

I'm sure it tells you the max speed you hit. I'll double check but I remember that as I found that pretty cool.

Personally I would be going to get the car myself.

I might be different though. My cars are all company cars but I work for the family business so the cars might as well be my own.

I wouldn't thrash a car like that anyway just because it is a company car!
I love my GTD

Doubt it as you would get all the muppets posting their speeds on youtube etc even although it could have been photoshopped.

For what it's worth I'd go collect it too.

We live near to a large Audi dealership and have often witnessed brand new cars with trade plates being gunned down a short dual carriageway with roundabouts at either end by guys in overalls / suits. I'd hate to imagine that sort of 'its not my car' attitude prevailing over a hundre miles or so.

Doesnt stop any1 taking a photo or film of it, U can easily strap a phone onto the steering rack to record what speed you get to * On my GTI (On a racetrack) My needle went round to just over 160 on the clocks, But for some reason the rev needle wouldnt rev past 6grand, But in other gears it revs to 7, I suspect some sort of limiter?

Didn't you say company car? Who pays for the maintenance on it - you or the company? Not sure I'd be all that fussed on a company car as I'd be ragging it day to day anyway.

hahaha I was thinking the same. Our company cars get abused to the max. A mate of mine at work blew the turbo on his A3 TDI and he gave it so much abuse. Most / all company car schemes will be all inclusive to service, mot, break downs etc are all included as part of the lease deal.

Ours are anyway.

Yeah totally agree it is so easy but it would be even easier if VW told you on the MFD your maximum speed, which would allow you to photograph it at your leisure to upload it. It would be like uploading your high score on some game

VW would then be slated for being irresponsible.

Its a bit like the first electronic road signs that came out that displayed your speed when you pass them. They used to flash the days highest speed, I think to indicate how dangerous folk were driving but in the end it made the reprobates just want to beat the high score then get their pictures taken with the board!!!
