Had the mic repositioned yesterday. It now sits at the top of the windscreen, midway between the left side of the driver's sun visor and the mirror housing, and the sound quality is noticeably better. Thought I'd try a little mic gain. Went into the Setup menu > Microphone. That brings up the heading "Volume Phone", but it's not clear if this is the gain setting. If it is, then the only way to adjust it is by the volume buttons on the left side of the steering wheel. Seems a little random, and a decent Fiscon User's manual would help a lot.
